Smartix Summer School (SSS) is a flagship program of Smartix School, a registered non-profit Organization committed to helping students reach their potential. The purpose of the school is to introduce students to activity, projects and game based learning in the field of Maths, Science, Creative design, creative arts and creative writing.
The Summer School is run and taught by Smartix School staff and volunteers, many of whom are Engineers, doctors, and artists from top Universities and Colleges across the World.
Creative design incorporates concepts from arts, science, agriculture, mathematics and computer science into hands on projects students can do all year round.

At Smartix, we believe the ability of a student to analyze a piece of writing and to express ideas clearly are at the base of any progress that can be made in all subject areas.
The CS curriculum is aimed at helping students develop their own algorithms in problem solving.
The creativity and imagination of students are brought to bear through our creative arts curriculum.
Students explore their environment through experimentation and discovery and develop critical analytical skills required to succeed in life.

At Smartix, teacher training programs are very important to us, not only for the purpose of building the capacity of teachers but to ensure our dynamic ways of teaching and learning introduced in the schools are continually implemented. The teacher training program is a 2-to-3-day training session to intensely engage teachers as we unpack strategically our teaching curriculum designed to help or improve the cognitive, logical, and creative capabilities of students across all performance levels.
The training is designed to acquaint teachers with the curriculum as we create the opportunity for them to experience and appreciate the syllabus firsthand before their students are engaged. The training sessions are oriented to be as practical as possible, with the aim to even get the teachers to develop their own teaching materials using our teaching and learning models.
Students and teachers of those schools who are engaged in summer school are introduced to the Teleplay app to continue the learning experience from home. The subscription cost for the app is borne partly by Smartix Education, the makers of the app, and by sponsors.
These students are supplied with year long renewable vouchers which they use to subscribe to the app. With the app, students can continue to engage with Smartix teachers and volunteers they met at summer school. Find out more about the teleplay app here.
The inaugural SSS was held at KNUST kindergarten in Kumasi in 2017 with 140 students enrolling from kg1 through to Grade 6. Class sizes ranged from 15 to 18. Summer School has so far impacted more than 700 students across 3 summer schools and other mini summer schools. We also measure the impact of the programme on students. Our core focus is on measuring the short and medium to long term impact on students and teachers. Impact assessment reports are provided to partners and donors.
In the organization of summer school
You can partner with us in organizing summer schools in areas where access to quality education is a problem.
Voucher Programs
You can fund subscription costs for attendees of smartix summer school to continue the learning experience with Smartix Teleplay app by buying yearly vouchers for these The vouchers can be purchased and given to students or Smartix could sign up these students and apply the vouchers purchased to their accounts so they have free access.
In this case they only download the Teleplay and log in with a unique ID number which we use to identify them.
In providing teaching aids to teachers and schools
You can fund the provision of tablets to teachers fitted with the Teleplay teachers app.
These teachers can then have access to all the lessons and the smartix database of in class activities and games that can help them become better teachers in the classroom.
The database of in-class activities, projects and games is however not currently available on the teachers app since the Teleplay app development is a work in progress.
In providing online/offline desktop apps for schools with computer labs
Some schools have computer labs which students can have access to even if their parents don’t have android phones.
